Tripura lockdown extension

Tripura Chief Minister Shri Biplab Kumar Deb on his social media post announced the extension of complete lockdown till 4th August 2020 (upto 5am). He urged to endure this lockdown and maintain the government as well as health dept guidelines in coming days.

” If we do not cooperate, the loss is ours only. First priority is to save our lives”, said CM.

Shri Deb also said that door to door COVID-19 survey is not possible in merely two days, that is why the Tripura lockdown is to be extended. He shared the two days survey data in his video message. Total sample collection of 1st day of survey was 3,87,782 out of which 9,849 were found positive. Total sample collection of 2nd day survey was 5,687 out of which 1,096 were found positive. Test has been possible in 1/3rd part of Tripura till now.

” Tripura is the only state on a mission to do door to door survey”, he added.

Shri Deb also urged not to pay ear to any rumours and cooperate with the team who have been tirelessly working to complete the survey. If not, they will have to pay fees later to get tested at their own expense. A jumbo team of 12,000 health workers and 711 centres are taking surveys in every household.

Besides survey, CM also urged to celebrate upcoming festivals maintaining social distancing with not more than 5 persons at one place. He also expressed his grief about 21 deaths due to COVID-19 infection.

As most deaths occurred because patients already had health issue history, CM urged the state to look after people with health history, especially the senior citizens , pregnant women, children below 10 and the needy.
